We have a particularly fine sideboard by Gordon Russell of Broadway. Specially selected walnut veneers with truly beautiful figuring have been used throughout to produce a stunning overall effect. The inside of the doors are veneered in walnut, an unusual and very stylish feature. The legs, frame and handles are made from solid walnut. There are two outer cupboards and a central rack of three drawers. The top drawer, divided into three sections, in lined in baize. We have the original correspondence between the buyer and supplier dated 1956 which adds provenance to the piece.
The sideboard has been stripped and polished according to our usual schedule. There is a slight mark, measuring 1.5cm, on the top as shown. This could not be removed during the polishing process, but it does not detract from the truly wonderful appearance of this unit.
Dimensions: Width 141cm Depth 49cm Height 86cm ( 55.5" x 19.5" x 33.75")
We also have the matching dining table and nest of tables. We have six dining chairs currently under restoration.
